Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer specializing in Security and Compliance to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on creating, editing, and maintaining documentation that supports security policies, compliance frameworks, and procedural guidelines. You'll work closely with cybersecurity professionals, compliance analysts, and cross-functional teams to ensure clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate documentation. Responsibilities + Develop, organize, and maintain technical content such as security policies, compliance procedures, training materials, and user guidelines. (Source: MC24 Job Search Guide US eBook.pdf) + Translate complex technical jargon into clear, concise language appropriate for varied audiences, including technical staff and non-technical stakeholders. + Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) in cybersecurity and compliance to gather information and validate documentation accuracy. + Stay current with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI DSS) and ensure documentation aligns with industry standards and company policies. + Create executive summaries, white papers, and audit reports to support compliance reviews and management presentations. + Implement version control processes to manage updates to evolving security policies and procedures. + Work closely with operational teams to document processes related to risk management, incident response plans, and disaster recovery frameworks. Requirements Qualifications + Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, Information Security, English, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience). + 2-4 years of technical writing experience, ideally in the security/compliance space. + Familiarity with security documentation frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS, or similar. + Strong understanding of compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI DSS). + Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to understand and articulate technical concepts. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and documentation tools (e.g., MadCap Flare, FrameMaker, or Google Docs). + Experience managing and collaborating on technical content in enterprise systems such as SharePoint, Confluence, or similar. + Prior experience working in or with IT, cybersecurity, or compliance teams is an asset. Preferred Skills + Certifications in Technical Writing or compliance-related disciplines.
