Rehab Tech - PRN San Joaquin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Rate: $17.00 per hour Position Summary: San Joaquin Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a PRN Rehab Tech to support our therapy department and clinical team. The Rehab Tech assists therapists with patient care, documentation, equipment maintenance, and departmental support in accordance with all state and facility guidelines.
Essential Duties: • Treat patients as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Record daily treatment notes and weekly progress notes per PT Board requirements.
• Assist in maintaining and organizing the therapy department.
• Participate in Patient Care and Rehabilitation Conferences as needed.
• Assist with cleaning and maintenance of the treatment area and equipment.
• Provide patient care per the physician treatment plan.
• Support the nursing department with training of Restorative Aides.
• Communicate patient progress, concerns, and plans with supervisors and health team members.
• Participate in in-service training programs.
• Record treatment changes per policy and procedure.
• Instruct families or nursing staff on maintenance programs and caregiver training for discharge preparation.
• Report any equipment issues to ensure proper functioning.
• Interact professionally and positively with residents, families, staff, and colleagues.
Supervisory Responsibilities: • This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications: • Licensed as a Physical Therapy Assistant by the State PT Board.
• Proficient in computer programs such as Casamba and PointClickCare.
• Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and policy manuals.
• Strong communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, coworkers, and families.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts (fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions).
• Strong reasoning ability in written, oral, and diagram-based instruction settings.
Certificates/Licenses: • Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in good standing.
• Must meet all continuing education requirements per state practice guidelines.
Physical Demands: • Frequent standing and walking; occasional sitting.
• Frequent reaching, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to exert 50-100 lbs. of force as needed.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
• Ability to maintain necessary visual and auditory perception.
Work Environment: • Typically low to moderate noise levels.
