Job Description

SUMMARY:

Instrument Man I has 0-3 years of experience as Instrument Man, Can set up and operate surveying instrument and data collector, can do minor field calculations, can run a crew for (basic) mortgage surveying jobs. Position is responsible for the application of appropriate field procedures; records all field data and information and ensures it is transmitted to the office in the appropriate format; provides guidance and direction to the Rodmen; performs survey tasks as per the direction of the Party Chief/Survey Coordinator. Professional conduct is required. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and understand project scope of work expectations.
• Review and confirm project site location, addresses with information provided via smartsheets. 
• All duties and expectations as provided in the Survey Plat (Field) SOP. 
• Ensure all obtained field information is uploaded to smartsheets daily, prior to the end of the workday.
• Accomplish daily scheduled project completely and efficiently as provided by Survey Coordinator/Manager.
• Safety operations during data collection.
• Knowledge of surveying field book notes requirements.
• Ability to read engineering and surveying plans to obtain basic information required to complete survey tasks.
• Knowledge of traffic control and safety procedures for surveying and construction operations.
• Confirm closure of home onsite.
• Maintains a proactive teamwork attitude. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 0 to 3 year of experience in the professional field.
• Knowledgeable of the use of survey equipment: GPS equipment and data collectors.
• CST I certification required.
• Solid relationship and team building skills.
• Self-motivated and strong organizational skills.
• Detailed oriented individual.
• Valid Driver’s License.
